In the context of the development of digital economy, due to the digital divide aggravating the inequality of urban and rural entertainment consumption, the existing research lacks the combination mechanism and system integration of this issue. Based on the knowledge gap hypothesis and the theory of innovation diffusion, this paper understands the concept of digital divide, the framework of cultural and entertainment consumption inequality, analyzes the internal mechanism of digital divide affecting cultural and entertainment consumption imbalance, and summarizes the relevant empirical studies. It is found that the existing studies have shortcomings such as single measurement index, lack of interdisciplinary integration, and lack of quantification of digital literacy and algorithm gap. Based on this, it is proposed that in the future, AIGC and digital footprint big data can be strengthened to carry out in-depth research, and policies should be improved from digital infrastructure to digital inclusion and digital literacy, standardize the operation of entertainment platforms, enrich digital cultural content, and reduce the stratification of urban and rural entertainment consumption.
